Lead Solutions Engineer
Sales
San Francisco, Denver

Who we are
LightSource is the next-generation operating system for Procurement. We build SaaS software for procurement professionals—folks who are responsible for managing vendors, sourcing goods and services, and keeping supply chains running smoothly. Sales has Salesforce. HR has Workday. Finally, procurement has LightSource. Think CRM, but for vendor intelligence, negotiations, and purchasing—purpose-built for the people who keep business moving behind the scenes. We’re growing fast, backed by top-tier investors, and already landing major enterprise logos. Despite that, we’re still lean, scrappy, and product-led. This is your chance to get in early and make a real impact.
Role and Responsibilities
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role at the intersection of product, sales, and engineering. Specifically, you will:
- Partner with Account Executives to support net-new opportunities across the Fortune 500
- Lead technical discovery, demo, and value-scoping conversations with prospective customers
- Translate customer pain points into high-impact solution architectures that showcase LightSource's power
- Become an expert on the LightSource platform and how it stacks up in the broader sourcing/procurement space
- Build reusable demo environments, RFP templates, and processes for a scalable SE function
- Handle technical evaluations (RFPs, security reviews, integrations) with ease
- Be a key feedback loop to Product, Engineering, and Customer Success—championing the voice of the customer internally
- Help define what great Solutions Engineering looks like at LightSource

- Proven track record working with large, complex enterprise customers
- Experience owning technical elements of RFPs and security assessments
- Strong written and verbal communication—you're just as comfortable with a CPO as you are with an engineer
- You’re curious, coachable, adaptable, and thrive in ambiguity
- Bonus if you’ve been a “first SE” or helped build a sales engineering function before

We’re serious about building something great—but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. If that sounds like your kind of environment, let’s chat.
