We build SaaS software for procurement managers – folks
at companies that are responsible for managing suppliers and vendors.

Sales has Salesforce, HR has Workday and now finally procurement has LightSource.

We build something similar to a CRM, but instead of helping sales professionals
find customers, we help procurement managers find vendors,
manage negotiations, and buy intelligently.

Our team is small but growing quickly! We're (exceedingly) well-funded by top tier
investors, and we're are punching well above our weight-class in terms of enterprise
logos… despite having no sales professionals on our team to date.

## Role and Responsibilities

This role requires a high level of proficiency in executive presence, business
acumen, prospecting, and solving customer problems. All of this will show up as
you find new groups of potential LightSource users and get them onboard. Your
ability to drive a strategic partnership is what makes you a top-performing
sales rep - ensuring LightSource is aligned to each customer’s unique business
needs in such a way that they continue to renew. Those who challenge
conventional wisdom & never settle for the status quo are strongly encouraged to
apply! As a part of LightSource’s sales team, you will become a master of
discovery & a strategic business partner for current customers. You will play a
huge role in our company growth journey, while navigating your own individual
growth journey as well.

**Specifically:**

- Hunt and close expansion opportunities outside of current customer base
- Develop a proactive and effective sales motion
- Demonstrate an ability to multithread and access C-level executives
- Manage a book of business with 100+ accounts.
- Clearly articulate and demonstrate our value proposition, creating excitement
  and enthusiasm among prospects.
- Develop and leverage client relationships to expand the usage of LightSource
  within new teams and departments.
- Work cross-functionally with our world-class customer success team to create
  raving fans.

## Qualifications:

- 3-5+ years of closing experience
- Experience up-selling, cross-selling and/or hunting net new business
- Previous SaaS or enterprise software sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expert in (or excited to learn) new tools across CRM, messaging automation,
  lead finding, and more…
- Comfort selling Mid-Market and SMB customers (in addition to enterprise) where
  the ACV is smaller, but sales cycles are faster

## About This Role

As a Customer Support Specialist at LightSource, you will be a key player in
ensuring our customers have a seamless, positive experience on our platform. In
this role, you’ll provide direct support to customers, help troubleshoot and
resolve issues, and maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction. We’re
looking for individuals with a knack for problem-solving, an eagerness to learn,
and a genuine desire to help others. This role is ideal for someone early in
their career.

You’ll report to the **VP of Customer Success** and receive mentorship from
experienced team members. Join us as we redefine what’s possible in customer
support for procurement technology.

## Core Responsibilities

- Assist customers with onboarding and setup to ensure a smooth experience
- Resolve customer issues and support requests via email, phone, and chat
- Manage and prioritize incoming support tickets
- Document and update support workflows to improve team efficiency
- Track customer feedback and common issues, sharing insights with the product
  team

runs entirely on Excel and email. The best in class purpose-built tools are so
old-school that nobody bothers using them. Sales people have Salesforce, HR has
Workday, and Accounting has SAP. Us software people have the best tools because
we know our problems and we're able to solve them!

You could help build the future of supply chain software using the bleeding edge
of what the web and cloud have to offer.

At LightSource, you'll work on building inuitive interfaces for what are often
very complex interactions. You'll work hand in engineers to turn customer needs
into product features from initial design to finishing touches. As a member of a
small but prolific team, you'll set the direction for LightSource's visual
design language.

Every member of the product team is expected to be a product owner, understand
our users' needs and get involved in the high level direction of LightSource.

## Requirements

- 4+ years of shipping applications with large, evolving scope
- Extensive experience with interaction design, visual design, typography,
  layout with a particular focus on desktop web productivity applications.
- Experience collecting structured feedback from users and translating into
  product requirements and solutions
- Experience with standard design tools/systems for prototyping and
  communicating designs
- Self-directed, should be just as comfortable getting involved in product
  discussions as design discussions

## About This Role
As a Customer Success Manager at LightSource, you will own the customer lifecycle from post-contract close to renewal, fostering strong relationships with mid-management procurement professionals and influencing senior leaders like Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) to accelerate LightSource adoption.  

You’ll join a dynamic and rapidly growing Customer Success team that is agile, entrepreneurial, and passionate about driving meaningful impact in procurement. Reporting directly to our **VP of Customer Success**, you’ll have access to mentorship from industry leaders redefining procurement operations.  

## Core Responsibilities  

- **Build and nurture relationships:** Develop strong partnerships with category management teams, procurement leaders, and other cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, quality, finance, NPI).  
- **Manage onboarding:** Lead the onboarding process for procurement and supplier teams to ensure seamless adoption of LightSource.  
- **Understand customer needs:** Learn procurement best practices and language to tailor solutions that exceed expectations.  
- **Contribute to product management:** Manage feature requests and collaborate with LightSource’s engineering team to deliver customer-focused innovations.  
- **Analyze and act:** Gather intelligence on customer metrics (seats, spend, suppliers, etc.) and develop action plans to maintain customer health.  
- **Identify opportunities:** Proactively uncover cross-sell and upsell potential to grow Net Recurring Revenue (NRR).  

## Customer Success Operations  

Take ownership of at least one initiative to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Customer Success function. Potential areas include:  

**Process Optimization**: Standardize kick-off and deployment processes and create industry-specific procurement playbooks and customer support documentation.  

**Automation and Productivity**: Automate help desk workflows, customer metrics reporting, and product tours. Help implement engagement tools to reengage inactive users.  

**Customer-Focused Solutions**: Develop offline data intake processes and analytical models for customer insights, and collaborate with the engineering team to shape the product roadmap based on customer needs.  

**Strategic Development**: Conduct customer segmentation and create targeted engagement strategies while gathering competitive intelligence and develop strategies to challenge competitors. Map customer tech stacks and identify integration opportunities.  

**Team Growth**: Contribute to the recruiting process to expand the Customer Success team.

- Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes (Bonus!)
- Understanding of procurement tech stacks (Bonus!)
